Information for Travelers
Despite being Zambia's largest city and capital, Lusaka is often a forgotten place for travelers to Africa.
This booming city has re-emerged in recent years, with the city's bustling markets, numerous upscale restaurants and bars, and good connections across the country.
Located just 30 kilometers from the city, Lusaka National Park is a great destination for a day trip.
The location is quite unusual as it is close to the city and in a populated area.
However, it is home to thousands of species such as the rare white rhinos, giraffes, zebras, blue wildebeests and lions, which roam freely throughout the habitat, made up of forests, lakes, rivers and waterfalls.
Nowadays, there are plenty of reasons to spend a few days in this cosmopolitan city instead of just passing through.
Culture
The National Museum in Lusaka is shaped like a large square box in a building reminiscent of a Soviet-era Moscow ministry.
The museum has galleries upstairs displaying exhibitions on urban culture and Zambian history.
In addition to offering cultural, ethnographic and archaeological exhibitions.
Contemporary paintings and sculptures from Zambia are shown downstairs.
