Nur-Sultan is the capital of Kazakhstan and is located in the north of the country. It stretches on both sides of the Ishim River.
On the left, stands the ultramodern Bayerek Tower, 97 m high, from whose viewpoint you have a panoramic view of the city.
The Palace of Peace and Reconciliation is a beautiful glass and steel pyramid that opened in 2006 as the venue for the triennial Congress of World and Traditional Religions, organized by Kazakhstan.
Full of symmetry and symbolism, the pyramid is beautifully lit and a highlight of the city.
Designed by Norman Foster, it is conceived as the symbolic center of Nur-Sultan.

The Ak Orda presidential palace is crowned by a huge blue and gold dome.
The sprawling Khan Shatyr entertainment center, which is modeled after a tent in its shape, is also home to a shopping mall and beach resort.
Khan Shatyr is the most extraordinary building in Nur-Sultan, it has a 150 m high translucent structure made of ethylene tetrafluoroethylene (ETFE).
This heat-absorbing material produces summer temperatures inside, even when it's -30°C outside.
