Did Georgia Pass Permanent Daylight Saving Time?

Georgia enacted Senate Bill 100 (Act 17) in 2021 to use daylight saving time year-round, but the change is conditional. The law becomes effective only if federal law authorizes states to observe daylight saving time year-round.

Under the rules currently in force, Georgia still changes clocks seasonally between EST and EDT. In 2026, daylight saving time began March 8 at 2:00 a.m. local time and ends November 1 at 2:00 a.m. local time.
