Is South Carolina Ending Daylight Saving Time?

No change is in force as of August 20, 2026. South Carolina still follows the regular U.S. seasonal schedule, using EST during standard time and EDT during daylight saving time.

The 2025–2026 General Assembly has two proposals pointing in opposite directions. H.3320 would make Eastern Standard Time permanent and has remained in the House Judiciary Committee since January 14, 2025. H.3325 would instead advance Eastern Standard Time by one hour and keep that advanced time permanently; it also remains in the House Judiciary Committee. Neither bill has been enacted, so South Carolina continues to change clocks seasonally.
