Quick Answer
What time does after-hours trading start and end?
Nasdaq after-hours trading runs from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Eastern Time on business days. Nasdaq’s rulebook calls this Post-Market Hours. NYSE Arca also publishes a Late Trading Session from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM ET on normal trading days.
Your broker can use a narrower window. Fidelity currently offers 4:00–8:00 PM ET, Charles Schwab 4:05–8:00 PM ET, and Robinhood 4:00–8:00 PM ET for its standard extended after-market session. Trading after 8:00 PM belongs to a separate overnight service where available.
