What are stock market hours?
NYSE and Nasdaq regular U.S. stock trading runs from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM Eastern Time, Monday through Friday on normal trading days. Nasdaq also publishes a 4:00 AM–9:30 AM ET pre-market and a 4:00 PM–8:00 PM ET after-hours session. Broker access can be narrower than the exchange’s available extended-hours window.
Global exchanges operate in their own local time zones and do not all use one continuous session. London centers on 8:00 AM–4:30 PM London time. Tokyo trades 9:00–11:30 AM and 12:30–3:30 PM. Hong Kong’s continuous securities sessions run 9:30 AM–12:00 PM and 1:00–4:00 PM. ASX normal cash trading runs around 10:00 AM–4:00 PM Sydney time.
