Euronext Brussels hours in your local time
Euronext Brussels follows Europe/Brussels, switching between CET and CEST. CalendarHours converts the local exchange clock rather than treating “CET” as a fixed year-round UTC offset.
Opening and closing auction uncrosses are randomized. The converter therefore treats 9:00 and 17:35 as scheduled uncross windows rather than guaranteed second-level timestamps.

Current Euronext Brussels Cash Trading Hours — 2026
The official April 10, 2026 appendix identifies Brussels-specific XBRU trading groups. The live engine follows Equities BEL20 and the standard continuously traded equity lifecycle.
| Brussels Group / Phase | Brussels Time | What Happens | CalendarHours Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cash Market Pre-Opening | from 7:30 AM | Euronext-wide cash-market call phase before the first uncross. | Pre-Opening |
| Equities BEL20 — Opening | 9:00 AM random uncross | Official Brussels trading group J0: Equities BEL20. | Opening Auction |
| Equities BEL20 — Continuous | after opening uncross–5:30 PM | Main continuous Central Order Book session. | Market Open |
| Equities BEL20 — Closing Uncross | about 5:35 PM, random | Closing auction determines the closing price. | Closing Auction |
| Equities BEL20 — Trading-at-Last | after close–5:40 PM | Eligible orders trade at the established closing/last price. | Trading-at-Last |
| Other Brussels Equities | ~9:00 AM–5:30 PM | Standard continuous Brussels equity groups use the same headline open/close structure. | Standard Equity |
| XBRU ETFs / ETPs | group-specific opening–5:30 PM | ETF/ETP trading groups are separated from the BEL 20 equity live badge because their opening parameters can differ from standard equities. | Separate Product Timing |
| Brussels Funds / Other Cash Groups | 9:30 AM–5:30 PM | Fund and other cash-market groups can use trading parameters different from the main BEL 20 continuous-equity group. | Separate Product Timing |
| Auction / Fixing Securities | 11:30 AM & 4:30 PM fixings | Less-liquid or specially configured securities can use auction/fixing schedules instead of the main all-day continuous group. | Separate Trading Mode |
Are BEL 20 trading hours the same as Euronext Brussels hours?
For BEL 20 constituent shares, the relevant venue is Euronext Brussels. The current Brussels cash-equity group uses the standard lifecycle shown on this page: pre-opening from 7:30 AM, opening around 9:00 AM, continuous trading to 5:30 PM, closing auction around 5:35 PM and Trading-at-Last to 5:40 PM.
But the BEL 20 index itself is not a separate exchange. Searches for “BEL 20 trading hours” can also surface BEL 20 futures or options, whose derivatives schedules are different.
Why do BEL 20 futures/options pages show different hours?
Because they are derivatives, not Brussels cash equities. Current Euronext derivatives documentation lists BEL 20 index derivatives under their own Brussels product schedules, and contract pages separately publish derivative Central Order Book hours.
This page's live badge is deliberately anchored to Euronext Brussels cash equities. Futures, index options and individual equity options belong under Financial Market Hours and Futures Market Hours.
Do Brussels ETFs use exactly the same opening as BEL 20 shares?
Not necessarily. Euronext's cash-market appendix is organised by trading group, and ETF/ETP groups can have different opening parameters from the main Brussels equity groups.
CalendarHours therefore keeps the live badge scoped to BEL 20 and standard continuous Brussels equities instead of treating every XBRU-listed product as if it shares the same opening uncross.
The main continuous-equity answer remains approximately 9:00 AM–5:30 PM, with the closing process and Trading-at-Last continuing afterward.
Does every Brussels-listed security trade continuously all day?
No. Euronext cash markets support both continuous and auction/fixing trading modes. Less-liquid or specially configured securities can therefore use a different intraday pattern from BEL 20 shares.
The canonical answer on this page is intentionally the standard Brussels cash-equity lifecycle rather than a claim that every XBRU instrument is identical.
Euronext Brussels Holidays 2026
Euronext Brussels follows the pan-European Euronext exchange calendar rather than every Dutch civil holiday. That means several major Belgium holidays remain full stock-market trading days.
2026 Brussels Closures, Belgian Holidays & Half Days
The exchange is open Monday through Friday except for the official Euronext exceptions. Belgian public holidays are shown where they are useful to prevent false closure assumptions.

What time will Brussels close on Dec. 24 and Dec. 31, 2026?
Euronext has already confirmed both dates as half trading days for Brussels.
However, the official 2026 calendar states that the end-of-year trading hours, including half-day trading, will be announced in a separate appendix. As of July 24, 2026, the exact Brussels cash-market cutoff is not published on the official calendar page.
Historical Euronext schedules have often closed Amsterdam, Brussels, Lisbon and Paris cash instruments by about 14:05 CET. Some current competitors already present 14:05 as confirmed for 2026. CalendarHours keeps the cutoff pending until Euronext publishes the 2026 appendix.
Is Euronext Brussels closed on Belgian National Day?
No in 2026. Euronext says its cash markets are open Monday through Friday except for the exchange-calendar exceptions, and Tuesday, July 21 is not listed as a Brussels closure.
The same principle keeps Brussels open on Ascension Day, Whit Monday and Armistice Day. A generic Belgium public-holiday calendar therefore cannot be used as a stock-exchange closure calendar.
Euronext Brussels vs Paris, Brussels and Lisbon
Euronext’s regulated cash markets operate on the same Optiq platform and share a harmonised rulebook, which is why the standard equity lifecycle looks similar across Brussels, Paris, Brussels and Lisbon.
Brussels still requires its own canonical page because trading-group codes, local listings, ETF/ETP groups, index intent and holiday semantics differ. The current appendix explicitly identifies Brussels groups such as A0 Equities BEL20 and other XBRU cash groups.
Does Euronext Brussels close for lunch?
No. Standard BEL 20 and continuously traded Brussels equities have no scheduled midday lunch break.
The main session continues until 5:30 PM, although individual securities can still enter volatility-auction states or follow non-continuous trading modes.
Does Euronext Brussels change clocks?
Yes. Brussels switches between CET (UTC+1) and CEST (UTC+2).
CalendarHours uses `Europe/Brussels`, so the 7:30 pre-open, 9:00 BEL 20 equity opening, 5:30 continuous close and 5:40 TAL endpoint convert correctly throughout the year.
How long does Brussels overlap Wall Street?
Euronext Brussels remains open through the early portion of the U.S. regular session. The exact Brussels-to-New-York conversion temporarily shifts during the weeks when U.S. and European daylight-saving changes happen on different dates.
The converter above models those DST transitions automatically.

How CalendarHours verifies Euronext Brussels hours
CalendarHours gives priority to Euronext’s current cash-market appendix, harmonised market rules, official Euronext Brussels market pages and the 2026 Euronext holiday calendar. The live engine is anchored to `Europe/Brussels`.
Editorial verification for this version was completed on July 24, 2026. The official April 10 cash-market appendix was checked directly for Brussels trading groups. The Brussels cash-market group structure uses the standard 09:00 opening, continuous trading to 17:30, closing process around 17:35 and TAL to 17:40 for BEL 20/standard equities. Current live XBRU share pages independently show 07:30 threshold updates, 09:00 opens and 17:35–17:40 end-of-day activity.
The same appendix explicitly states pre-opening at 07:30 CET for any Euronext Cash Market, which supersedes the older 07:15 convention still found on third-party market-hours pages.
Euronext’s 2026 calendar was reviewed separately for full closures and year-end half days. December 24 and December 31 are confirmed half trading days, but exact 2026 half-day hours remain to be announced in the end-of-year appendix. The live engine therefore shows a verification state instead of guessing from historical schedules.
Live page date: —. Euronext can update trading-group parameters, random uncross windows or half-day hours through notices and appendices. Newer official Euronext information and actual Optiq market states control over rounded webpage times.
