Tomorrow

Checking tomorrow’s GPW calendar…

Tomorrow Opens

Current UTP schedule applies through Oct. 2, 2026 unless GPW publishes a newer operational notice.

Tomorrow Ends

From Oct. 5, 2026 the production GPW WATS timetable must be re-verified.

Why “09:00–16:50” and “09:00–17:05” can both be correct. The first describes continuous share trading. The second describes the broader standard GPW session endpoint because 16:50–17:00 is the pre-closing auction phase and 17:00–17:05 is dogrywka. The official GPW 2026 communication itself summarizes normal session days as 09:00–17:05.

WIG20 Search Intent

Are WIG20 trading hours the same as Warsaw Stock Exchange hours?

WIG20 is an index, not a separate exchange. Its constituent shares are listed in the GPW Main Market and the official session-details page identifies Akcje WIG20 as one of the continuous-share groups.

For searches about when WIG20 constituent stocks are open, the useful answer is therefore the Main Market cash-equity lifecycle: 9:00–16:50 continuous trading, pre-close to 17:00 and dogrywka to 17:05.

Cash vs WIG20 Futures

WIG20 futures are a different GPW instrument group

GPW's current session-details page lists index futures, single-stock futures, currency futures and index options separately from the cash-share groups.

That distinction matters because a futures contract can have a different opening phase from the 9:00 AM cash-equity opening. This page therefore does not use derivatives status to determine whether WIG20 constituent shares are open.

GPW Markets That Should Not Be Collapsed Into One Clock

The Warsaw exchange ecosystem includes Main Market shares, ETFs/ETPs, NewConnect, Catalyst, GlobalConnect and derivatives. GPW itself exposes them as different session schedules.

Main Market Shares

WIG20, mWIG40, sWIG80 and other continuously traded shares drive the live answer on this page.

E

ETF / ETC / ETN

GPW lists ETFs and ETC/ETN instruments as separate timetable groups, so their phase clock should be verified independently.

N

NewConnect

NewConnect has separate continuous and fixing session tabs; it is not used to drive the Main Market live badge.

C

Catalyst

Polish bond trading uses separate Catalyst schedules, including continuous and fixing variants.

G

GlobalConnect

GlobalConnect shares and ETFs are separate schedule groups in GPW's current session-details interface.

F

Derivatives

Index, equity and currency futures plus index options are distinct instrument groups from Main Market shares.

Major 2026 Infrastructure Change

GPW WATS launches October 5, 2026

On June 18, 2026, GPW announced an updated production date for its new trading platform, GPW WATS: Monday, October 5, 2026.

Migration from the current UTP system is planned for the weekend of October 3–4. GPW explicitly said that current trading continues normally on UTP and that additional detailed information will be delivered to market participants during the final validation process.

CalendarHours therefore treats October 2 as the last fully verified UTP timetable date. Beginning October 5, the live engine shows a WATS Timetable Check until the production session schedule is verified against the new GPW documentation.

Why the Guardrail Matters

Do not hard-code UTP forever

A market-hours page can remain visually correct while becoming operationally stale after a trading-system migration.

The current UTP phase decomposition is highly established, but GPW is replacing the underlying matching platform during 2026. Until the production WATS timetable is verified, assuming that every opening, closing and instrument-group phase remains identical would be weaker than explicitly flagging the transition.

This guardrail can be removed once the post-launch GPW session details confirm the production schedule.

Close-Time Precision

Does GPW close at 16:50, 17:00 or 17:05?

16:50 is the end of continuous share trading.

From 16:50–17:00, GPW is in the pre-closing phase collecting orders for the closing price. At 17:00, the closing price is determined.

The session then has dogrywka until 17:05, which explains why GPW's own 2026 public communication describes standard trading days as 09:00–17:05.

No U.S.-Style After Hours

Dogrywka is not an evening after-hours market

The five-minute 17:00–17:05 phase is part of the normal GPW session structure and occurs at the established closing price.

It should not be equated with the multi-hour premarket and after-hours sessions available for many U.S. equities.

CET vs CEST

Does the Warsaw Stock Exchange change clocks?

Yes. Warsaw uses CET (UTC+1) in winter and CEST (UTC+2) in summer.

CalendarHours uses `Europe/Warsaw`, so the 8:30 pre-open, 9:00 opening, 16:50 continuous close and 17:05 session endpoint convert correctly through daylight-saving changes.

No Lunch Break

Does GPW close for lunch?

No. Continuously traded Main Market shares have no scheduled midday lunch break.

Under the current UTP schedule, continuous trading runs from 9:00 AM to 4:50 PM unless a security is individually halted or the market enters an exceptional state.

Warsaw Stock Exchange Hours FAQ

Is the Warsaw Stock Exchange open today?

For continuously traded Main Market shares under the current UTP schedule, GPW uses a pre-opening phase from 8:30 AM to 9:00 AM Warsaw time, continuous trading from 9:00 AM to 4:50 PM, a pre-closing/closing-auction phase from 4:50 PM to 5:00 PM, and a five-minute dogrywka/post-close trading phase from 5:00 PM to 5:05 PM at the closing price. CalendarHours also checks the official 2026 no-session calendar and the planned October 5, 2026 GPW WATS migration.

What time does the Warsaw Stock Exchange open?

The Main Market pre-opening phase begins at 8:30 AM Warsaw time. The opening price is determined at 9:00 AM, after which continuous trading begins.

What time does the Warsaw Stock Exchange close?

Continuous Main Market share trading ends at 4:50 PM. GPW then enters its pre-closing phase through 5:00 PM, determines the closing price at 5:00 PM, and runs the dogrywka/post-close phase from 5:00 PM to 5:05 PM. The official GPW 2026 communication summarizes standard trading days as 9:00 AM to 5:05 PM.

Why do some websites say Warsaw closes at 4:50 PM, 5:00 PM or 5:05 PM?

Those times describe different phases. 4:50 PM is the end of continuous trading, 5:00 PM is the closing-price determination, and 5:05 PM is the end of the five-minute dogrywka/post-close phase. CalendarHours keeps those states separate instead of treating one timestamp as the entire market close.

What are Warsaw Stock Exchange pre-market hours?

For continuously traded Main Market shares in the current UTP system, pre-opening runs from 8:30 AM to 9:00 AM. Orders can be entered for the opening auction before the opening price is determined.

What happens from 4:50 PM to 5:00 PM on GPW?

That is the pre-closing phase for continuously traded shares. Orders are collected for the closing auction and the closing price is determined at 5:00 PM.

What is dogrywka on the Warsaw Stock Exchange?

Dogrywka is the short post-close phase after the 5:00 PM closing price has been determined. Under the current Main Market share schedule it runs from 5:00 PM to 5:05 PM and allows eligible trades at the closing price.

Does the Warsaw Stock Exchange have after-hours trading?

GPW does not operate a U.S.-style multi-hour equity after-hours session. The five-minute 5:00–5:05 PM dogrywka is part of the exchange session and uses the closing price; it should not be confused with an evening after-hours market.

What are Warsaw Stock Exchange holidays in 2026?

GPW's official 2026 no-session calendar lists January 1, January 6, April 3, April 6, May 1, June 4, November 11, December 24, December 25 and December 31 as days without a trading session.

Is GPW open on Constitution Day May 3, 2026?

May 3, 2026 falls on a Sunday, so the exchange is closed for the weekend. It is not separately listed among GPW's 2026 weekday no-session dates.

Is GPW open on Assumption Day August 15, 2026?

August 15, 2026 falls on a Saturday, so GPW is already closed for the weekend. It is not separately listed among the 2026 weekday no-session dates.

Is the Warsaw Stock Exchange open on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve 2026?

No. Both December 24 and December 31, 2026 are official GPW no-session days. They are full closures, not shortened trading days.

Are WIG20 trading hours the same as Warsaw Stock Exchange hours?

WIG20 is an index, not a separate stock exchange. WIG20 constituent shares belong to the GPW Main Market and follow the cash-equity session represented on this page. WIG20 futures are derivatives and use a separate GPW derivatives timetable.

Do GPW ETFs use exactly the same schedule as shares?

Not necessarily. GPW's current session-details page maintains ETFs as a separate instrument group from WIG20, mWIG40, sWIG80 and other continuously traded shares. CalendarHours therefore keeps the live status scoped to Main Market shares rather than assuming every ETF transition occurs at the same second.

Does NewConnect use the same hours as the GPW Main Market?

NewConnect is a separate GPW-operated market with its own continuous and fixing schedules. The official GPW session-details page exposes NewConnect as separate timetable tabs, so this Warsaw Stock Exchange page does not use NewConnect status to drive the Main Market live badge.

What changes when GPW WATS launches in 2026?

GPW announced on June 18, 2026 that the planned production launch of GPW WATS is October 5, 2026, with migration from UTP planned for October 3–4. The exchange also said current trading continues normally on UTP and that market participants will receive detailed information about the transition. CalendarHours therefore verifies the current UTP phase clock through October 2 and requires a WATS timetable check from October 5 rather than silently assuming every phase remains unchanged.

Does the Warsaw Stock Exchange close for lunch?

No. Continuously traded Main Market shares have no scheduled midday lunch break. The continuous phase runs from 9:00 AM to 4:50 PM under the current UTP schedule.

What time zone does the Warsaw Stock Exchange use?

GPW operates on Warsaw local time. CalendarHours uses Europe/Warsaw, automatically switching between CET and CEST for daylight-saving time.

Accuracy & Methodology

How CalendarHours verifies Warsaw Stock Exchange hours

CalendarHours prioritizes GPW's live Session Details page, official GPW resolutions and communications, 2026 GPW-operated educational platforms, and current Polish broker session documentation. The live clock is anchored to `Europe/Warsaw`.

GPW's current Session Details page identifies separate timetable groups for WIG20, mWIG40, sWIG80, other continuous shares, ETFs, futures, options, NewConnect, Catalyst and GlobalConnect. Its 2026 calendar lists the official days without a session.

GPW's own 2026 New Year communication states that on all other 2026 days sessions operate during standard GPW trading hours from 09:00 to 17:05. The detailed phase decomposition used by the live engine is corroborated by current Polish broker documentation: 08:30–09:00 pre-open, 09:00–16:50 continuous, 16:50–17:00 pre-close, 17:00 closing-price determination and 17:00–17:05 dogrywka.

The official 2026 no-session list is independently confirmed by GPW Resolution No. 753/2025: Jan. 1, Jan. 6, Apr. 3, Apr. 6, May 1, Jun. 4, Nov. 11, Dec. 24, Dec. 25 and Dec. 31.

This page also includes a forward-looking infrastructure guardrail. GPW announced on June 18, 2026 that GPW WATS is planned to launch in production on October 5, 2026, with UTP-to-WATS migration planned for October 3–4. GPW says current trading remains on UTP and additional transition details will be provided to participants. CalendarHours therefore stops asserting the detailed UTP phase clock after Oct. 2 until the production WATS session timetable is verified.

Live page date: . Actual GPW market states, exceptional suspensions, instrument-specific session parameters, the production WATS timetable and newer GPW notices control over rounded webpage times.
