Does All of Louisiana Have the Same Time?
Yes. Louisiana uses Central Time statewide. All 64 parishes—from Caddo Parish in the northwest to Plaquemines Parish in the southeast—share the same official civil-time rules. New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Shreveport, Lafayette, Lake Charles, Alexandria and Monroe therefore switch between CST and CDT together.

Do Louisiana’s State Borders Change the Time?
Not when you cross directly into Arkansas, Mississippi or the part of Texas adjacent to Louisiana. Those border regions use Central Time too, so New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Shreveport and nearby cross-border destinations remain on the same basic CST/CDT schedule.
Texas becomes a two-zone state only much farther west, where El Paso and Hudspeth County use Mountain Time. That means a road trip from Louisiana into eastern Texas stays on Central Time for hundreds of miles before any Texas Mountain Time question becomes relevant.
